SQL/R A.03.00 License keys

SQLR A.03.00 requires a license key version A.03.00 or above. SQLR A.03.30 requires a license key version A.03.30 or above. A previous license key for version A.01.xx or A.02.xx does no longer work.

Please contact sales@marxmeier.com to request a permanent license key.

During installation on HP-UX and Windows, you have the option to create a temporary license key which is valid for four weeks. For Linux please contact sales@marxmeier.com to request temporary license keys.

When using Eloquence with the free Personal Edition license option and no SQL/R license is present, a free two user SQL/R license is granted for evaluation and testing purposes.

The SQL/R software id (SWID) necessary to request a license key may be obtained using the gethwid utility. The installed license keys may be verified using the chklic utility.

It is necessary to install SQL/R to use these utilities. They are located in the SQL/R etc installation subdirectory, by default:

HP-UX and Linux
/opt/sqlr2/etc/gethwid
/opt/sqlr2/etc/chklic
32-bit Windows
C:\Program Files\Marxmeier\SQLR\etc\gethwid
C:\Program Files\Marxmeier\SQLR\etc\chklic
64-bit Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Marxmeier\SQLR\etc\gethwid
C:\Program Files (x86)\Marxmeier\SQLR\etc\chklic

By default, the gethwid utility only returns a primary SWID. By specifying the -a option, all applicable SWID values are output.

For example:

On HP-UX and Linux:

/opt/sqlr2/etc/gethwid
3535806523

/opt/sqlr2/etc/gethwid -a
3535806523
P2366910547
M2366910547

On 64-bit Windows:

C:\> "C:\Program Files (x86)\Marxmeier\SQLR\etc\gethwid.exe"
3247020679
Any license keys must be added to the license file manually. It is recommended to comment out (or delete) any previous license keys when adding the new A.03.00 license key(s) to the license file.

HP-UX and Linux
/etc/opt/sqlr2/license
32-bit Windows
C:\Program Files\Marxmeier\SQLR\etc\license
64-bit Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Marxmeier\SQLR\etc\license
The chklic utility may be used to verify the license file.

A copy of the default license key template file is also available.

HP-UX and Linux
/opt/sqlr2/newconfig/config/license
32-bit Windows
C:\Program Files\Marxmeier\SQLR\etc\license.sam
64-bit Windows
C:\Program Files (x86)\Marxmeier\SQLR\etc\license.sam
When editing the license file on Windows, please pay attention to not modify the template file by accident, which may happen when your Windows Explorer folder settings suppress the display of known file extensions (like .sam) by default.
